The purpose of the Georgia Sting AAU Girls Basketball program is to provide players and coaches an opportunity to embrace the game of basketball. Our mission is to build character, confidence and self-esteem in young ladies using the concept of "old fashion" team work, developing their basketball skills to create opportunities, and to become a leader not a follower in school, church and life.

Sting Mission
	Georgia Sting Basketball Organization has established thisprogram to service the youth of the CSRA. The organization will strive to create a positive experience for all players involved, while at the same time, provide them the opportunity to better understand the game of basketball, and improve their skills to whatever level each player wishes to strive for. The Organization is geared to provide an outlet of healthful activity and training under good/positive leadership in an atmosphere of wholesome community participation. The Organization is also committed to helping the girls become good and decent citizens of the community. We emphasize, and instill in each player and coach, the value of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play. The Organization will also strive to promote a positive attitude among each team and its members both on and off of the court. It will also strive to promote this same positive attitude towards opponents and their coaches, referees, and spectators.
	Sting History		Sting Commitment
	The Georgia Sting Organization has provided Columbia County young girls, interested in playing basketball, an opportunity to compete at the highest level in Goergia and South Carolinia areas over the past 10 years. In 2001, amid rummors that the talent in columbia county could not compete on the bigh stage, sparked the beginning of the Georgia Sting. With just a few girls to fill a team, a couple on the bench, and two parent coaches, the Sting set out to shock the CSRA. As time passed, The Sting has grown from just one team to over 10 and over twenty coaches.		The Georgia Sting Organization is committed to providing a quality program integrated with community and volunteer events. We are committed to encouraging the players to pursue a top level education. We understand that basketball can be a vehicle that can assist a player to achieve collegiate goals, but we know it takes a quality education to sustain any career. The commitment charter is one of the first stages of success as we encourage commitment in all we do and all we ask of players, parents, and coaches alike.
